The Accidental Prime Minister: 'Ashoka' actress Suzanne Bernert will play Sonia Gandhi on big screen!

German actress Suzanne Bernert, who is best known for her role of 'Helena' in 'Colors' show 'Chakravartin Ashoka Samrat', is all set to portray former Congress president Sonia Gandhi in the upcoming political movie 'The Accidental Prime Minister'.

Married to actor Akhil Mishra, Bernert has acted in a number of Indian films and TV shows in various languages. She first came in with her role of 'Doris Bajaj' (Prerna's daughter-in-law) in iconic show 'Kasautii Zindagii Kay'.

The 35-year-old speaks Bengali, Marathi and Hindi fluently and is an expert Lavani dancer.

This is not the first time when she'll be playing the role of Congress President Sonia Gandhi on-screen. Earlier, she has played the same in 'ABP News' show '7 RCR' as well.

She also shared the same on her Instagram account few days ago. She posted a picture of herself dressed as Sonia Gandhi for '7 RCR' & revealed that she's very excited to play the role again in the film. Last month, she announced about being a part of 'The Accidental Prime Minister' with this tweet:



Based on Sanjaya Baru's book on the life of former Indian Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh, the film will see veteran actor Anupam Kher in the lead role.

The 63-year-old, on Thursday, treated his fans and followers by sharing his first look from the film.



Directed by Vijay Gutte, 'The Accidental Prime Minister' also stars Akshaye Khanna and is slated to release on December 21.
